Wonder - 4 Stars

Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay shine in this depressing, yet beautiful film.

Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

This book was a best-seller, inspiring the “Be Kind” movement and watching the film its easy to see why this connected with so many people. The story is beautiful, touching and very sad. It isn’t often cinema depicts how mean kids can be and its almost shocking watching some scenes. The cast are exceptional with Izabela Vidovic, Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay being standouts. Owen Wilson is also good, but gets less to do and Daveed Diggs and Mandy Patinkin are excellent in supporting roles.

Overall an excellent film that you’ll need the tissues for.
