The Phoenix Files: Audio Dramas
We loved producing a series of full cast audio dramas starring Paul McGann, based on the best-selling sci-fi novels by Chris Morphew. Preachrs Podcast OnLine & OnStage secured the global rights to the hit young adult novel series in 2016 and Benjamin Maio Mackay was soon added to the project to direct, adapt and star in the series. Adelaide musician Sean Braithwaite was added as composer the following month. Recording began in April 2017 and concluded in October that same year. The first instalment was released in November 2017 with the second following in June 2018 and the last in November 2018. The full cast list was announced on May 26, 2017 and included BAFTA nominee Paul McGann, Chaser member Andrew Hansen and theatre icons Kurt Phelan and Stephen Mahy. Benjamin Maio Mackay said in a press release, “It’s such an honour to be able to work with this great series. While it is a young adult series it has elements that will certainly capture everyone’s hearts and imaginations, no matter how old. The story and characters that Chris [Morphew] has created are exquisite. I love The Phoenix Files and I can’t wait to share our version with the world in this exciting medium.” To read more about the series click below!
