Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan’s third instalment is the funniest yet.
Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on a road trip through Spain, sampling the restaurants, eateries, and sights along the way.
A mix of impressions, improvisation, jealousy, great food and beautiful locations makes for a great 100 minutes. As with the first two Brydon and Coogan play fictionalised versions of themselves going through a midlife crisis while writing food reviews for a newspaper. There is about 10 minutes worth of scripted family/work drama, but the other 90% appears to be improv - and it’s certainly the best part.
Overall Coogan and Brydon are hysterical, but the film’s odd ending and slightly over inflated run time keeps it from being perfect.
