The Hitman’s Bodyguard - 3.5 Stars

A fun action comedy, with real dramatic stakes and likeable, well-rounded characters.

The world's top bodyguard gets a new client, a hit man who must testify at the International Court of Justice. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial on time.

It honestly surprised me how much I enjoyed this film, the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson is excellent. The plot is enthralling and you can easily see how this was initially conceived as a drama. The characters actually have emotion, backstory and are well-developed, something that can rarely be said for dramas - let alone comedies. The action sequences are fun and visually the chase scenes are a treat.

Overall a fun romp with real heart.
