Paddington 2 - 4 Stars

Delightful family entertainment with an all star cast and plenty of great jokes!

Paddington, now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community, picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen.

Ben Whishaw returns to voice Paddington bear, the iconic British character created by Michael Bond. Hugh Bonneville leads the live-action cast alongside Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Brendan Gleeson and Sally Hawkins. Hugh Grant also joins this film’s ensemble as the villain. He’s delightfully camp and is able to mock himself in good jest throughout the film. Do stay to the end to witness his excellent musical number. The script, has an adventure, mystery theme, which is actually quite riveting. The characters are well-developed and honestly the adults at the screening I attended enjoyed it far more than the children.

Overall a wonderful, light-hearted, feel-good movie to catch this Holiday season!
