Oceans 8 - 3.5 Stars

Against all the odds Oceans 8 delights.

Debbie Ocean gathers an all-female crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala.

I wasn’t a fan of the original Oceans trilogy, I found it boring, lacklustre and without humour. However, this new film with a new cast brings great characters, story and laughs. Sandra Bullock is incredible as Debbie Ocean and Helena Bonham-Carter is a scene stealer. Cate Blanchett, Rhianna, Sarah Paulson and James Corden also give strong performances. Director/writer Garry Ross has done an excellent job of creating an intriguing heist plot, which has a number of surprises for the viewer. He also finds a great balance of humour and character development.

Overall a great film and one not to miss.
