Man Up - 4 Stars

Frivolous light-hearted fun is a great relief in a time of bio-pics and heavy themed films.

Man Up is the story of a single woman who's mistaken for a stranger's blind date and it leads to her finding the perfect boyfriend.

I love the rom-com genre, especially the British ones – I am one of the people who watches Love Actually every Christmas and loves Notting Hil. This film is honestly one of the best rom-coms in a long time. It doesn’t try to be anything more than what it is and its two leads, Simon Pegg and Lake Bell have a brilliant on-screen chemistry. They also have this wonderful ability of making a quirky story really work. Rory Kinnear also plays a most amusing role exceptionally well. There’s nothing exceptional about the script or cinematography – but there’s nothing to complain about either.

Overall a very enjoyable film and one of the best British rom-coms I’ve seen in years!
