Love, Simon - 4 Stars

A beautifully written, funny, engaging and excellent movie.

Simon Spier keeps a huge secret from his family, his friends, and all of his classmates: he's gay. When that secret is threatened, Simon must face everyone and come to terms with his identity.

Director Greg Berlanti has assembled a stellar cast and crew to bring to life the best-selling teen novel. Nick Robinson is the perfect Simon, Jennifer Garner gives a surprisingly sold and emotional performance as his mother. Josh Duhamel, Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp and Jorge Lendeborg Jr round out the supporting cast excellently. The film mixes humour with drama in a blend that seems quite lifelike. One cannot review this film without mentioning it is the first teen orientated film with gay protagonist released by a major studio. Hollywood is progressing and this exceptional film (released by Fox) is at the forefront.

Overall a powerful, beautiful story that need to be told.
