Remarkably better than the original.
Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is left to care for Jack-Jack while Helen (Elastigirl) is out saving the world.
I love The Incredibles, it was the last of classic Pixar’s reign and a cinematic masterpiece. Somehow Brad Bird has managed to write and direct an even better sequel. Everything I loved about the first film was utilised and was expanded upon; great script, interesting characters, a lot of humour aimed at a social or political target and outstanding animation. The animation is so good you forget you are watching animated characters, it’s like watching actual performers.
The voice cast are perfect, with the majority of the original cast returning. Newcomers Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener are still able to keep up though. Fan favourites Frozone and Edna Mode return too in all their glory. Jack-Jack also gets a significantly increased role in this film and is one of the best onscreen characters.
Overall one of my favourite films this year and certainly worth the 13 year wait. A perfect sequel.
