Game Night - 3.5 Stars

Remarkably this comedy/thriller is unique, original and constantly funny!

A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves trying to solve a murder mystery.

Writer Mark Perez and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have actually created something different for the over-saturated comedy film market. The script has well-written characters who all have their own interesting arcs. The plot has some predictable elements, but also enough twists to keep you guessing. The film also finds a solid mix of comedy/mystery to keep you interested and laughing.

Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams play the leads excellently, while Kyle Chandler, Sharon Horgan, Billy Magnussen, Lamorne Morris, Kyle Bunbury and Jesse Plemons fill out the excellent support cast. The cinematography and soundtrack also support the strong cast and script.

Overall a solid comedy that’s definitely worth your attention!
