Cars 3 - 4 Stars

Pixar’s weakest franchise offers a strong, emotional conclusion.

Lightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.

I’ve never seen the any of the Cars franchise before, but it is Pixar’s lowest rated film series. It sells lots of merchandise so they can fund they’re more obscure, critically acclaimed films. However, this final instalment is clever, touching, at times funny, but ultimately heart-breaking. Without spoiling the plot I can say that I cried tears of sadness and joy. The storyline is relevant, beautiful and just exceptional!

Pixar’s animation, as always is phenomenal. It looks beautiful and the voice cast is amazing. Owen Wilson really shines in this role and Cristela Alonzo’s new character is the lighter relief the film needed. Chris Cooper, Armie Hammer and Nathan Fillion are also all strong in their roles.

Overall with a great story, exceptional animation and a strong cast this is the conclusion Cars needed!
