Blockers - 2 Stars

Frivolous & funny, this comedy is sure to delight!

Three parents try to stop their daughters from having sex on Prom night.

Expectations were certainly low at the premiere of Blockers, but to my delight it was rather enjoyable. It avoided most clichés typically associated with American comedy and demonstrated a diverse range of well-written characters, which helps the audience connect with the story. The jokes are laugh-a-minute, with some truly outrages moments thrown in too! The cast are strong and Ike Barinholtz delights in the more heartfelt scenes. Kathryn Newton and John Cena play the humorous scenes well too, but Cena struggles with some of the more emotional dialogue.

Overall a fun evening out.
