Blade Runner: 2049 - 4 Stars

Visually picturesque with stunning performances this sequel is bound to resonate with those who love and hate the original.

A sequel to the Harrison Ford/Ridley Scott movie Blade Runner.

There’s very little that I can say about this film, primarily due to the endless warnings not to share details about the film, its characters or plot. This is one of those rare occasions where not knowing anything at all does in fact enhance the experience, so I won’t be the one to spoil the film for you. Ryan Gosling is exceptional in the film, he carries it well. Robin Wright is great in a supporting role too. Harrison Ford also offers his best performance of the last 20 years.

Visually the cinematography is outstanding, the direction is also impeccable. The score is beautifully mellow too. The story too is strong, but the 2hr 45minute run-time may deter some. While there’s very little you could cut, it still feels excessive.

Overall a fantastic sequel, which I find better than the original.
