Trespass Against Us - 2 Stars

Michael Fassbender’s performance cannot save this plotless film.

A man looks to find a way to escape the criminal ways of his outlaw family.

The cast is made up of strong UK actors, but the script isn’t strong enough to maintain the audience’s attention even for 99 minutes. Fassbender is compelling in the lead role, but his dialogue isn’t well-written, some lines sound utterly ridiculous. Brendan Gleeson is appropriately menacing, but also falls victim to the poorly written script.

The issue is the film can’t decide if it’s family drama, crime thriller or action movie. The blend of all three genres just doesn’t work.

Overall despite good actors it’s one to avoid.
