Black Sea - 4 Stars

Jude Law shines in this indie style action thriller.

The cinematography really stands out for being unique and quirky, but still effective. Another great element about this film its intense and emotionally provocative music. The whole cast offer superb performances. Jude Law offers one of his best performances ever and Scoot McNairy offers an equally strong performance. I am however disappointed that the film was released nearly 6 months later than the UK. The one thing that could’ve been improved is the script. At times it was a little be clichéd, but this didn’t detract from the film as a whole.

Overall the cast offers a superb performance and there is some great cinematography and a rich score. However, the script could’ve been slightly improved. This is an action, thriller with real heart that turns it into more of an indie film appropriate for film festivals.
