The Phoenix Files: Man in the Shadows

As soon as Luke touches down in Phoenix, he knows that something's not right. The brand-new town is supposed to be a paradise, but it's not long before the cracks begin to show: malfunctioning phone lines, restrictions on car use, and a private security detail instead of a police force. Luke along with his friends Peter, and Jordan uncover the true reason for the town's existence - a secret that means Phoenix is suddenly both the safest and most dangerous place on Earth. Someone in Phoenix is plotting to wipe out the human race. And the clock is already ticking.

The Phoenix Files: Blood in the Ashes

Things are getting bad in Phoenix. Luke’s dad is trapped on the outside and cut off from all contact. Jordan is having frightening visions of things that haven’t happened yet. And Peter is slowly losing his grip on reality - and his temper. But the worst is yet to come. All three are being tracked by an enemy who could paralyse them at any moment. And deep under Phoenix, they will uncover a secret that changes everything...

The Phoenix Files: Life in the Flames

The Phoenix Files franchise concludes in this exhilarating race to the end of the world. The apocalypse is coming right on schedule, and Luke and Jordan are running out of options. As the Shackleton Building becomes a prison, the last free people in Phoenix are forced into hiding. Meanwhile, Peter is spiraling out of control. Can Jordan find a way to save Luke's life, or is history doomed to repeat itself? With only days until Tabitha is released, Phoenix's biggest secrets are yet to be revealed. Whatever happens next, the world as they know it is coming to an end.

Preachrs Podcast OnLine & OnStage secured the global rights to the hit young adult novel series in 2016 and Benjamin Maio Mackay was added to the project to direct, adapt and star in the series. Recording began in April 2017 and concluded in October that same year. The first installment was released in November 2017 with the second following in June 2018. The final installment is slated for release on November 30 2018. Adelaide musician Sean Braithwaite is the series’ composer and an album of musical highlights from all three stories will be released in late 2018. The full cast list was announced on May 26, 2017 and included BAFTA nominee Paul McGann, Chaser member Andrew Hansen and theatre icons Kurt Phelan and Stephen Mahy.

Benjamin Maio Mackay shares his excitement of bringing The Phoenix Files to life in audio drama format. “It’s such an honour to be able to work with this great series. While it is a young adult series it has elements that will certainly capture everyone’s hearts and imaginations, no matter how old. The story and characters that Chris [Morphew] has created are exquisite. I love The Phoenix Files and I can’t wait to share our version with the world in this exciting medium.”
